A very important field of application is belt repairing with Toptech Repair Patches, Strips and Sheetings. 

Belt Splicing:

Buff lapped surface before applying a coat of Toptech cement/Hardener Mixture to the fabric surfaces with a stiff brush. Allow to dry at least 30 minutes before applying second coat. Allow second coat to dry until it's tacky. Put the laps together and stitch down vigorously. Toptech cement/Hardener Mixture is excellent also for heavy duty fabric conveyor belts. 

Bonding Rubber to Rubber:

1. Rubber without Toptech CN Bonding Layer:

Buff rubber surface before applying Toptech cement/Hardener Mixture. 

Avoid application of any kind of solvent after buffing. Apply first coat of Toptech cement/ Hardener Mixture on both buffed surfaces and allow to dry approx. 30 minutes. Apply second coat, and allow to dry until it is slightly tacky. Put the coated sheets together and stitch down vigorously.

2. Rubber with Toptech CN Bonding Layer:When bonding rubber without CN bond- ing layer to rubber with Toptech CN bonding layer, only rubber without CN bonding layer needs to be buffed. Apply two coats of Toptech cement/Hardener Mixture on buffed rubber and one coat on Toptech CN bonding layer.

Bonding Rubber to Metal:Prepare metal surface either by grinding or by sandblasting. Buff rubber surface. Apply one coat of Toptech cement/Hardener Mixture on metal surface and buffed rubber. Allow first coat on metal to dry 1 or 2 hours. Allow second coat on metal and rubber to dry until slightly tacky. Stitch rubber sheet down on metal vigorously.

Note: We recommend preliminary treatment of metal surface with Toptech Metal Primer PR-800 for improved rubber to metal bonding levels and increased reliability.
