On the August 4th 1959, Yunnan Fengqing Tea Factory Was asked to mail 14kgs of Dianhong tea to Beijing as Exhibit and which will be used to entertain the foreign guests

   After receiving the mission, the factory quickly organized technicians, specialists to use high quality tea materials, and produced the special grade Dianhong tea, then posted to Beijing immediately. After tasted by the specialists of the Chinese Tea Corporation, they think the tea is of the characteristics such as: The tea leaves are strong but tender, slim but elegant.

Tea made from that looks evenly bright and rosy, and tastes exceptionally mellow. Because the black tea is of the best quality, it is recommended to State Council to use that as the Foreign Affairs Gift tea.

This kind of tea was designated as the Foreign Affairs gift tea since 1959, and it became the souvenir and testimony among China and other contries.
