Rest the transom of your boat on the dolly, secure tight with the adjusting knobs, and your ready for transport. The transom clamp adjusts from 2-3/4 inch  to 0 inch  on the top and 3-1/4 inch  to 1inch  on the bottom. The dolly transom clamp is 9-1/4 inch  wide, perfect for use on smaller fishing boats and canoes.
