 Utlraviolet lens filter  is usually shortened as UV lens filter, as we know,  its primary function is used to absorb the ultraviolet light below 400 nm wavelength since it contains lead. For the same reason,  it is more heavier than the lens with the same size and thickness.

UV lens filter is applicable for photographing took by the seaside, mountains, snow, and open areas. It can weaken the blue caused by UV rays. Meanwhile, for digital camera, UV lens filter can also remove the interferences to CCD which help to raise clarity and color output  image restore effect.
