Characteristics: It is a colourless granular powder and has a relative molecular weight of 138.21; relative density of 2.6682; melting point of 1069 deg C; boiling point of 1689 deg C. It is soluble in water and the aqueous solution is in alkaline state.
Uses: For the technical grade it is used in television glass shell; chemical fertilizers; electric welding rods; pharmacy; hydrogen dioxide etc.
For food grade it is used in flour to improve the taste of the foods. Also as a raw material in the production of Potassium Sorbate and in some sweet elements.
