1. About Alumina Ball

Name: Alumina ballApplication: Suitable for both wet and dry grinding of alumina, zirconia silicate, feldspar, quartz, kaolin clay, glaze inks and ceramics material in ball mill. It can be used in ceramic industry, glass industry and chemical industry. Also, it is a good grinding media to product silica micropowder.Size:

2. Dosage of Alumina balls

During wet grinding process, when dosage of alumina balls is up to 55% of net volume of ball mill, the best status can be realized, and the weight of ball body within ball mill can be estimated with formula:

                       G=3.14 x R2 x d x L x 25% ÷ 1000

G: weight of alumina ball (kg)

R: radius of ball mill (cm)

d: comparative weight of alumina balls (g/cm3)

L: net length of tube body (cm)

In order to improve the grinding ability, the above formula would be changed simultaneously due to the difference of grinding aides.

Wet ball mill smashes materials mainly through grinding instead of crushing. So, the initial ball charge proportion is advised as large size ball 25%, middle size ball 50%, and small size ball 25%, which can get good grinding effect. In practice, the proportion must be adjusted depending on the granularity of raw materials, diameter and rotary speed of ball mill, so to ensure the best grinding effect and granularity.

Too little raw material will result in high abrasion of ball mill liner.

Too much raw material will result in longer milling time.
