EC, white or similar to white granular powder, and insoluble in water, widely used for pharmaceutical excipients.

Physical and Chemical Properties:

EC, white or similar to white granular powder, odorless and tasteless, no heat.

Proportion: 0.3-0.4g/cm³, Relative density: 1.07-1.18g/cm³, Softening point: 135-155°C. Insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents. Form firm and tough membrane at low concentrations. EC can bear acid, and shows good stability when PH within 3-11. Anti-sunlight and aging capability are stable, and without degeneration in long-term storage. Thermoplastic well, and have good compatibility with resins and plasticizers.

Main use:

EC is widely used as adhesives in tablets and granules, it can increase the hardness of the tablets, and lower the tablets friability, and the tablet film of the surface is only thickened 10-30μm. EC is also used as film-forming agent in order to improve the appearance of tablets, isolated taste, to prevent the pharmacy damped and deteriorated, enhance the safety of storage of tablets.
