CO Combustion Promoter

    1.    Propertites and Uses

    CO combustion improver adopts the latest production technology, which add the metal dispersion and high efficient promoting burning agent in the original production process. This product can make the effient ingredients have better absorption and extension on the surface of carrier, and reduce the reaction time into the reactor effectively. It is an accelerant that can promote CO into CO2 , it is formed by the carriers that soaked with metallic solution of high oxidant activity and the carriers are similar to catalyst with the same physical properties. After adding to the device, it will fluidize with catalyst together, it can improve the rate of CO to CO2 rapidly in the regenerator dense bed, improve the temperature distribution in the regenerator, reduce the possibility of last burning accident, improve the heat recovery and reduce the energy consumption of unit. It can improve the product distribution and quality, improve the activity and selectivity of catalyst by reducing and stabilizing the regenerated catalyst, reduce the CO content in the efflux gas, reduce the air pollution and improve the economy.

    3.    Reaction principle

Due to the coke on the surface of catalyst in the process of catalytic cracking, the coke covers the active surface of catalyst and reduce the activity of catalyst. Only the catalyst burned in the regenerator, the hydrogen in the coke to water, carbon to CO and CO2, the activity of cracking catalyst agent can be generated. The oxidant activity of CO is lower, and CO is a pollutant to air. It must use the CO combustion improver to make CO to CO2, which can be released to the air.

Mechanism of CO combustion improver:

When burned in the generator of FCCU unit, the hydrogen in the coke generates water and the carbon generates CO and CO2.

C 1/2O2→CO heat release [10258kJ/(kg°C)]

CO 1/2O2→ CO2 heat release [23656kJ/(kg°C)]

From this, the released heat of per mol CO to CO2 is two or three times of the carbon to CO. When cracking catalyst regenerates, about half of the carbon in the generator generating CO, that is, CO2/CO in the regeneration flue gas is about 1.0.

Now it is widely accepted that in the combusetion reaction, the effects of PT and Pd are excellent, especially the PT is better.

Oxidation mechanism of CO on PT combustion:

O2 2Pt→2PtO

CO Pt→PtCO

PtO PtCO→2Pt CO2

CO PtO→Pt CO2

The reaction of CO on PT combusion is complex. Dispite this, in the above reaction, due to exist of PT, the reaction course of CO is changed, reaction avtivation energy required is reduced, the reaction rate of CO is accelerated, the reaction time is shortened and the social and economic benefits are obvious.

In the FCC reaction process, about 6% raw material will tranformed to coke deposited on the catalyst, and the activity of catalyst lost. To keep or recover the activity of catalyst, it need to remove the carbon deposited on the catalyst. In the FCC catalyst generation process, CO combustion improver can accelerate the oxidant of CO and reduce the CO content in the regeneration fuel gas, thus, it can remove the deposited carbon on catalyst, improve the activity and selectivity of catalyst, increase the yeild of light oil, eliminate the pollution of CO to environment.

     4.    Use condition

Putting it into the regenerator according to the request.

     5.    Packing and storage
