PFIM Residual Current Devices briefly RCDs, are designed for protection of humans and animals against the dangerous effects of electriccurrent. When parts under voltage are touched, the RCD instantly switches off the current long before any amount or duration of current flow can cause damage. Such fields of application are ,e.g.,rooms with bath tubs or shower, saunas, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, farming facilities, outdoor sockets, etc.
