Low-e glass is a type of coated glass that features high reflectivity medium and far infrared(wavelength 2.5—25um).Its emissivity is <0.25(which means only 25% of the outside radiant energy is emitted)while that of ordinary clear glass is E=0.84
Low-e glass can efficiently reduce heat convection from inside out through window with high visible light transmission and 75% reflcetivity of medium&far infrared heat radiation.
In summer,Low-e window glass blocks the medium&far infaraed radiation from outdoor heat,so it can reduce the air-condition cooling costs.And in winter,it reflects the radiate heat from indoor heating facilityies so that it can reduce the heating costs.
