2.Control of MYH Timber Drying Process
(Take 4000mm long, 20mm thick and 70mm wide, 70% moisture content Manchurian-tree wood for example)
A. In primary stage
1. First ignite steam kiln, boil water and let steam enter the baking kiln.
2. Start blower, ignite baking kiln, turn on combustion supporting switch and shut off lower cleaning door.
3. Do not turn off blower during burning. Continuously provide steam.
4.Handle of circulating air door is placed at primary position (dehumidifying air door closed and circulating air door opened).
5.Working temperature in primary stage is 90±5°C(about 85±5°C in winter). Temperature shall not be varied from time to time.
6.Preheat for 10-15 hours and steam supply shall not be stopped during the process.
Note: Working temperature shall not exceed 95°C in primary stage. |
B. In middle stage
1.Place the handle of circulating air door at Middle stage(circulating air door half-opened). Stop steam supply, entering dehumidifying stage.
2. Working temperature in middle stage is 80±5°C. The temperature lowering from primary stage to middle stage shall be transited slowly and uniformly.
3.Working time in middle stage is about 20-25 hours.
4.After about 10 hours in middle stage, open kiln door to check the moisture contents and temperatures at upper, middle and lower layers. If there is a large difference between moisture contents of different layer, operator should adjust the handle of air direction regulation(10) to proper position.
Note: Working temperature shall not exceed 85°C in middle stage. |
C. In late stage
1.Place the handle of circulating air door at Late stage (humidity air door opened).
2. Lower temperature from that at middle stage to 65°C or so and keep temperature under 65°C in late stage.
3. Continuously work for 15-20 hours.
4. Regularly check moisture content of timber until it meets the requirement.
Note: Working temperature shall not exceed 70°C in late stage. |
D. Termination of baking operation
After the moisture content of timber meets the requirement, first withdraw the firewood inside the burner and let the burner cool naturally. Do not pour cool water into the burner. Only after the temperature inside the baking oven lowers to beneath 35°C, can operator shuts off blower and opens oven door.
