Ferrous sulfate Molecular Formula:    FeSO4·(X) H20 (X=1 or X=7) Molecular Weight:     169.01 Properties:

      Green vitriol ,pale bluish green crystal, relative density: 1.895 ~1.898 . m.p.: 64oC. Easy weathering in dry air .

Into tetrahydrate (56.6°C),monohydrate (65°C).In wet air it will be oxidated to basic ferric sulphate.Soluble in water and glycerol, insoluble in alcohols.

      Ferrous sulfate monohydrate is offwhite powder ,used for the manufacture of iron salts, ink, iron oxide red and indigo-blue; as mordant ,tanning agent,water scavenging agent,wood preservative,disinfectant and heliograph etc.

as fertilizer, herbicide and pesticide in agriculture.as Local astringent and hematinic in medicine.Feed & Food Grade used for  accessorysubstance ,as raw material for the synthesis of hemoglobin ,as Food colorant.
