    GRL8003S is  a high performance broadband optical headend platform which consists of a series of modules with hot-swap capability. It features compact structure, high density modular design, high reliability and high performance-price ratio. This  provides network operators a simple, fast and flexible way to setup and update the system to meet emerging broadband network requirements.The GRL platform is housed in  a standard 19-inch chassis and is 3 rack units high, with 17 slots for active modules. It can accommodate one power supply and up to 15 standard modules or 2 power supplies (with power sharing capability) and up to 13 standard modules.GRL series module includes forward transmitter module, return receiver module and network management module.

Receiving and Testing

KT check all the equipment before dispatch to ensure the high quality of the products, so when you receive the good please do the following testing steps:

1)         Checking the package.

2)         Checking the package for the module and chassis.

3)         Keep the original package for the transport and stockpile.,Any damage please contact KT Group and get the RMA No, then turn the goods back to KT with the original package for the maintenance.

This operation manual stipulate the operation standards, any damage caused by the wrong operation, KT Group may not take any responsibility.

Warning: Never let the module working extend the max working condition or it may shorten the operation period of module. Never modify any part of the module or you may gain no maintenance service. Please return the fault module back to KT. The working temperature is 0 to 50 ºC (32 to 122ºF). Storage temperature is -40 to +70ºC (-40 to +158ºF), moisture is ,85%no-condensing, away from the fire source and dangerous items.

GRL8003S Chassis Setting and Installation  

Warning: For the fulfilled chassis is very heavy so please install it when it without any module.

Reference the following steps

1)         Do not obstruct the front panel and rear panel.Leave enough space for air flow.

2)         Match the screw of GRL8003S chassis and EIA 19 inch standard chassis

3)         Install the four screws.

4)         Install a power module in GRL003S, it need tow slots beside the power module (the first slot can only be used for NE8003ET install)

5)         Turn-on the PWR8003 power switch, the Power indicator display green, the 8 radiating fans begin to work. This shows the normal working.

GRL8003S Chassis

Working temperature range is 0 to 50ºC (32 to 122ºF).

Consumption:

At least need one PWR8003 power module to support the normal operation. KT Group can provide 300W output power by PWR8003 power module to meet the fulfilled module operation power demands. If the subscriber have other demands please install the backup power supplier, GRL8003S needs two nearby slots.

Module Installation.

Warning some components may be so sensitive to static, so anti-static precaution is necessary. Grounding the GRL8003S to forbid the damage to ESD and do no touch the equipment that did not mentioned in the operation manual.

Warning the rear panel may be ruined if install a flexural PIN.

Warning the first slot can only be installed by NE8003ET management module.

Remark all the modules gain the hot-plugging function. The power module should be installed in the nearby slots.

1)         Check all PIN needle in the rear panel, and straighten all flexural PIN needle.

2)         Install each module to the slot tightly.

3)         Fixed the screws in the front panel.

4)         Repeat the step 1 to 3 to install other modules.
