AQUAGEL MP-1573 is a carrageenan-based product which serves as texturant and natural meat binder. It improves the appearance and sliceability of meat products by effectively binding meat particles and stabilizing meat emulsions. also used to increase yield and to reduce purging of meat products. The carrageenan used in the blend is extracted from Eucheuma seaweeds originating from the coastal waters of the Philippines. It is stable in neutral or alkali medium and insoluble in organic solvents.

Marcel Carrageenan is packed in 3-ply kraft paper bags with polyethylene liner.

 - Food Grade Marcel Kraft White: Plain Kraft White

 - Petfood / Technical Grade Marcel Kraft Brown: Plain Kraft Brown 

SHIPMENT:

Marcel Carrageenan can be shipped in loose bags or palletized. On a 20 foot container, a loose bag shipment can accommodate up to 21MT while a maximum quantity of 20MT can be accommodated for palletized shipments. The number of bags per pallet depends on the bulkiness of the type of carrageenan. Pallets can be in the form of plastic or wood. The shipments under wood pallets abide by the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15). Fumigation can be done through the use of specified and approved methyl bromide or phosphine gas.  

Goods in pallets are wrapped with corrugated carton, stretchwrapped, with plastic straps.

Storage and Shelf-Life: Carrageenan stored in a cool and dry place and in its original packaging can last until 2 years.

COMPOSITION/LEGAL STATUS Purity of components conforms to the EEC directives, FAO/WHO and US FDA.

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE: 0.50% to 1.0% of total weight Ingredients have been assigned with minimum requirement of “GMP” in meat application by JECFA.

4. pH : 8–11, 1.5% w/w at 60oCMQM 1.1

5. Water Viscosity : Min. of 30 mPa×s 1.5% w/w at 75oC Spindle 2, 60 rpm LVT Brookfield Viscometer MQM 2.1

6. Potassium Gel Strength  : 30 – 100 g 1.0% + 0.2% KCl w/w at 20oC 0.5 inch AOAC probe TA-XT2i MQM 4.2B

7. Heavy Metals (As Lead) : max. of 20 ppm Arsenic : max. of 3 ppm Lead : max. of 5 ppm Mercury : max. of 1 ppm Cadmium : max. of 2 ppm

8. Total Plate Count : max. of 5,000 cfu/g Yeasts and Molds : max. of 300 cfu/g Salmonella : absent in 25 g Escherichia coli : negative in 5 g

PREPARATION: Disperse Aquagel MP-1573 in water with stirring. Complete dissolution is achieved by heating up to 70oC to 80oC.

PACKAGING: 25 kg multi-walled paper bag with polyethylene liner

SHELF LIFE & STORAGE: 2 years when stored in cool and dry place in original packaging
