Material: In general, all materials shall be the best of their respective kinds for the intended purpose.

Stainless steel sheet shall be prime grade, roller leveled, and shall be treated at the mill to be free of scale, ragged edges, deep scratches or other injurious effects of type 304 with a number four finish.

 

Fabrication of metal casework, the metal furniture is of modern design, first class quality casework shall insured by the use of proper machinery, tools, dies, fixtures, and skilled workmanship to meet the intended quality and quantity for the project.

 

All units is of flush front inset construction with intersection of vertical and horizontal case members, such as side panels, top rails, bottoms and vertical posts in same plane without visible overlap. Exterior corners shall be spot and arc welded at exterior corners. When assembled, all face joints shall provide a continuous flat plane.

 

Each unit is complete so that units can be relocated at any subsequent time without requiring field application of finished ends or other such parts. Case openings shall have positive closure on all four sides for doors and drawers to provide a dust resistant case.

 

All unit has a cleanable smooth interior, Front and rear posts, reinforcing members or channel uprights shall be enclosed full heights on all cabinets.

 

Base Units: Side panels are formed into not less than a channel formation at top, bottom, back and front. The front edge shall be 3/4” slim, modern design and further offset to form a strike for doors and drawers, and shall be perforated for the support of drawer channels, intermediate railed and hinge screws. An upright filler shall be screwed in place in all cupboard units to close the back of the channel at the front of the side panel and to provide a smooth interior for cupboard to faciliate cleaning. The upright filler shall be perforated with shelf adjustment holes at no more than 1/2” centers. The inside front of the side panel shall be reinforce at hinge points with a 16 gauge die formed reinforcement angle.

 

Top horizontal rail interlock with the lange at top of end panels for strength, but shall faciliate a flush appearance when fully assembles. Top rail shall have a full width rabbet for swinging doors and drawers. Joints shall be welded at top rail and face for superior strength and rigidity.

 

Intermediate rails are provided between doors and drawers, but shall not be provided unless made necessary by locks in drawers AND/OR the need for a sealed environment. When necessary, intermediate railed shall be recessed behind doors and drawer fronts, and designed so that security panels may be added as required.

 

Intermediate vertical posts are furnished between drawer assemblies. However, to allow for storage of large or bulky objects, no post of any type shall be used at the center of double door cupboard units.

 

Case bottom and bottom rail is formed of one piece of metal and shall ave both sides formed up and back formed down and shall be designed to provide a dust resistant closure.

 

Toe space rail extend up and forward to engage bottom rail to form a fully enclosed toe space nomially 3” deep by 4” tall. Whenever the base is omitted for units to be set on building bases or set on building bases or separate metal bases, the toe space rail shall extend back 1/2” and be reinforced by hat channels.

 

Back construction shall consist of a top and bottom rail, channel formed for maximum strength and welded to back and top flange of end uprights, with a space left open for access to plumbing line, all units shall be provided with removable back panels. Solid back base cabinets are unacceptable.

 

Die formed gussets are furnished on each bottom corner of base units to unsure rigidity, and a 3/8-16 leveling bolt, 3” long, shall engage a weld nut in each gusset. Access to each leveling bolt shall be through plug bottoms in the bottom pan. Each leveling gusset shall be capable of supporting 2000 lbs evenly distributed across a work surface.
