This part is the key part, which is used on the expanding head for pipe expander.
The expander tool consists of a truncated pyramid (wedge), on the surface of which segments are positioned, and an intermediate ring. The segments are guided along the circumference of the wedge and on the intermediate ring face. The intermediate ring is connected with the boom and the wedge with the draw bar. When the wedge is moved through the draw bar, the segments are radially forced outwards, the segment faces resting against the intermediated ring.
The expander tools are accommodated in a transport device. This device consists of two hinged halves shich can be put round the tool. This ensures a simple assembly and at the same time secures the too in position. Thrust screws enable the wedge to be moved and firmly forced against the assembling device through the spacer plate. The tool roller has to be exchanged according to the tube diamater and must be adapted to the respective plate thickness.
