1.2. Characteristics                                                                      

1.2.1. Appearance        Benzyl benzoate is a colorless or pale yellow viscous transparent liquid in the standard conditions. In the following 17 , it becomes white. Benzyl benzoate of high-purity would have faint scent of flowers under long-term storage.        

1.2.2. Freezing poing    Freezing point: 17In winter, because of being solid, the package of benzyl benzoate may be placed firstly in hot air chamber (35-70 ) or warm water (40-90 ) for water bath, and then it can be used after melting.

1.2.3. Boiling point         Boiling point: 323 Because of its high boiling point and low volatilization, it is a kind of flammable, but non-easily-flammable organic solvent.

1.2.4. Solubility           Benzyl benzoate does not dissolve in water, but insoluble in organic solvents. It is a good high-temperature solvent in itself. And it is the only solvent of Musk. Benzyl benzoate has applications for pharmacy and perfume industry just because of its characters that low volatilization of solvent and relative stability of ester.

The application mechanism in textile auxiliaries and comparison with similar productsBenzyl benzoate is used as lead agent, leveler and repair agent in textile auxiliaries.Mechanism: with the continuous development of the textile industry, cloth has been more and more high-grade. But the more high-grade cloth is, the more compact fabric is. So in dyeing, difficulty of coloring and uniformity is relatively larger. Benzyl benzoate has good plasticity performance. So it swells and draws away fiber to facilitate dye.
