Characteristics
HX-4800 is one-component, neutral-curing, silicone sealant with good adhesion and weather proofing property, long shelf life for the windows and doors industry.
HX-4800 cures at room temperature under the action of atmospheric moisture to give a permanently flexible silicone rubber.

Application
Sealing between glass and frame of windows and doors
Sealing of joints between windows or doors with wall
Sealing of connecting and expansion joints in the building
Adhesion
HX-4800 exhibits excellent primerless adhesion to many substrates, e.g. glass, tiles, ceramics, enamel, glazed tiles and clinker; metal, e.g. aluminium, steel, zinc or copper; impregnated, varnished or painted wood; and many plastics.
Users must carry out their own tests due to the great variety of substances.
The adhesion can be improved in many cases by pretreatment of the substrates with a primer.
Restrictions on use
HX-4800 may be discolored in contact with some organic elastomers, e.g. EPDM, APTK and neoprene.
HX-4800 is not recommended for use on natural stone, such as marble, granite, quartzite, as it can cause staining.
HX-4800 is not recommended for sealing of aquaria.
The curing time can be extended at lower temperature, low humidity or by low volume of air change.
