As old gambling favourite, shut the box uses two dice and a speical wooden playing tray. The tray features the number 1-9 in a row, each of which has a hinge and can be flipped over. A turn involves repreatedly throwing the dice and shutting a number or paire of numbers every throw. The turn ends when no number can be flipped upon the throw of the dice, at which point the player's total is caculated. The goal is to completely flip all numbers of "shut the box" which results in the best possible score of zero.
