Solubility	Very soluble in water, freely soluble in glycerol, soluble in alcohol.
Identification Test (A) Test (B)	Gives reaction of Iodides. Gives reaction of Potassium.
Appearance of Solution	A 10% w/v solution in carbondioxide free water is clear and colourless.
Alkalinity	Not more than 0.5 ml of 0.01 M HCL
Iodates	No blue colour is developes.

Thiosulphates	A blue colour is produced.
