The system of acid fumes collecting and exhausting, is based on the principle of keeping under negative pressure all the tunnel enclosure where the pretreatment tanks are placed. This offers different advantages as:
1. Much lower installed power with full vapors collecting efficiency (at same capacity conditions);
2. Simpler installation of all the tanks and lower chance of damaging the PPH ducting as there are no more ducts or pipes to be damaged;
3. Totally safe and acid vapors free positioning of the operator inspecting the materials being processed in the tanks;
4. Lower cost of equipment necessary to reclaim the working area.
The acid fumes passing through this scrubbing tower have the acid content reduced to the required value. This system is very effective and completely trouble free: very simple maintenance is required. Once the recycling water reaches the set acid concentration it is dumped into noe of the picikling tanks, thus making up the fresh scrubbing water.
This equipment operates at lower exhausting capacity, also when the line is not producing during overnight and holidays, to avoid the acid vapors to escape the tunnel and to damage.
Another kind of collecting system is: The acid vapours are pulled daonward from longitudinal slots located on the sides of tanks.
This offers different advantages as: medium-low efficiency together with limited investment.
