2  Features of Main Structure

2.1 Type JN11-12Q, 40.5Q or 40.5GY earthing switch consists of a bracket, a contacting knife, a voltage display device, insulators, a closing spring, a contact and a connecting bar of three phase short circuit.

2.2 The frame is a rectangular one made of angle formed steel. There are holes at the mid of two sides for main shaft rotating. Insulators with voltage display device are mounted on the bracket. There are J-type contacts and supporters installed on the insulators.

2.3 When closing, rotate a driven shaft arm connected to a main shaft by a operating handle, after moving over the middle point, the closing velocity is accelerated by spring force, it can reach 4m/sec. The main shaft and the connecting arm of the operating shaft become a dead centerafter closing, so the contacting knife can not be opened while closing a short circuit current and a test of dynamic thermal current.

3 Installation and Adjustment

3.1 The earthing switch can be mounted horizontally, vertically or declinely. The switch and the operating mechanism shan’t be installated until they have been checked up and in normal.
