Expensive Jennings bits with 4 flute cutters were famous for superb function. They cut fast, cleaned chips just as fast and produced smooth-sided deep holes for many thousands of appreciable builders.

These four-fluted bits have been developed to mimic that performance but at a much lower cost. And they have been improved by adding a screw-feed to help pull the bit through the stock and by using short 4-twist sections(about 3" long),which requires much less power.
