2.Description

1).Solubility in acid and alkali, shghtly dissolve in water but not dissolve in absolute ethyl alcohol.

2).The steam of vanadium pentoxide is toxic.

3.Application

1).V2O5 is used in the ferro-vanadium alloys and vanadium- aluminium alloys production etc.

2)V2O5 acts as decarbonator,desulfurater and catalyst in ammonia synthesis industry.

3).Vanadium pentoxide is also used as a catalyst in various organic reactions and as a starting material for other vanadium compound.
