SMP-15 resin is copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether .The vinyl isobutyl ether offers the product good link function. SMP-15 resin has good binding property as a result of its special molecular structure in which ester bond is resistance to hydrolysis and combined chlorine atom is very stable. So SMP-15 resin can be used to produce high quality paints with good water resistance, salt resistance and chemical resistance.
SMP15 remains well under the condition of acid/alkali because it contains no ester bond. SMP15 also not be easily oxygenated because it does not contain double bond. Also it has the lasting corrosive protection even under the extreme outdoor conditions. SMP15 could make the painting more flexible.
Solubility: SMP-15 is well soluble in aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, ester, ketone, glycol ether acetates, and some glycol ether. SMP-15 also can be dissolved in 20% toluene/xylene solvent at normally temperatures.
Compatibility: SMP-15 is miscible with or partly miscible with vinyl chloride copolymer, polyacrylic ester, unsaturated polyester resins, aldehyde resins, petroleum resin, natural resins, alkyd resins modified by oil and fatty acids, drying oil, tars, and bitumen, etc.
Application:
SMP-15 is suitable for high build coatings and inorganic coatings. With its excellent capability of resisting acid and alkali, SMP-15 is widely used in swimming pool paints, timbering paints, bridges paints and signpost paints, especially suitable for alkali timbering, such as asbestos, concrete, masonry, etc.
