White odorless crystalline powder. The compound is easily soluble inwater and quickly hydrolyses in solution leading to a mixture ofglycine and sodium carbonate. The pH of the solution reaches aconstant pH value(≈9.9) in a few hours. Acids rapidly decomposethe compound into glycine and sodium salt with evolution of carbondioxide. 1 gram of the product releases about 150 ml CO2.Function use:
