Botanical Name: Rosa canina

Rose hips (also spelled as rosehips) are the fruits of the rose plant. Rose hips are an abundant natural source of vitamin C, but they also contain many other minerals and vitamins such as beta carotene, bioflavinoids, calcium, citrates, citric acid, iron malates, malic acid, niacin, phosphorus and vitamins A, B1, B2, E, K, and D. Studies have shown that the active ingredients found in rose hips can help reduce joint pain, inflammation, and stiffness of the joints. They can play a valuable role in the care of joints and tissues, and provide joint pain relief.

Rose Hips contain pectin, citric acid, and malic acid, all of which have laxative and diuretic activities. Rose hips are one of the most natural and abundant sources of vitamin C. They also contain vitamins A, D, and E, and antioxidant flavonoids. The rose hip, also called the rose haw, is the pomeaceous fruit of the rose plant. Rosehips are commonly used as a herbal tea, often blended with hibiscus and as an oil. They can also be used to make jam, jelly and marmalade. As an herbal remedy, rosehips are attributed with the ability to prevent urinary bladder infections, and assist in treating dizziness and headaches.
