STRUCTURE:
Mineral Insulated cable is a type of inorganic cable consisting of a copper core, a copper sheath,
and magnesium oxide insulation. It does not contain any organic materials.
Meets IEC228 standaphosphorus-free copper conductors, with a melting point of 1083 .
Tightly-packed high purity tight magnesium oxide powder insulation has a melting point of 2800 .
Sheath consists of seamless, continuous copper tubing with a melting point of 1083 .
A PVC or LSF outer sheath may be added for using in special applications, such as in conduits,
underground, or where there is ammonia gas.
INTRODUCTION
TYPICAL PERFORMANCE:
Mineral Insulated cable is a type of inorganic electrical cable offering the following advantages over
ordinary cable:
Fire-resistant, offers credible fire safety protection (will not spontaneously ignite,
will not support combustion, will not spread flame, zero combustion ability)
No smoke, no gas, no toxicity, no health risk.
Resists high temperatures and corrosion; explosion proof.
Stable characteristics, long service life.
Other special qualities: resists mechanical impact, high current rating, copper sheath can be grounded.
