According to the U.S Federal Communication Law section CFR 47, all electronics and electrical products (except those regulated by special provisions) entering the U.S. must obtain a EMC certification. There are 3 common certification methods, namely Certification (FCC certification for all radio emitting devices, except Infrared transmitter); DoC (for products such as IT equipment, microwave oven, energy saving lamp, ballast, etc); Verification (for audio-visual products). There are differences exist among the process and methodology of the 3 certifications, and FCC has stipulated which certification method a product should choose.
