Description:
Boron Carbide is smelted from boric acid and powdered carbon in electric furnace at high temperature. It has the characteristic of semiconductor, can absorb neutron, no reacting with strong acid and strong alkali. Its hardness is only lower than diamond, the grinding efficiency is very high.
Normally we produce B4C-REF97, B4C-REF95, and B4C-REF90 three types for refractory applications.
Applications:
The main refractory usuage of Boron carbide is to add it into carbonaceous refractory material as a antioxidant, to make the refractory products more compact, reduce the porosity and decrease the crack.
