Brief introduction about the varistors manufactured by Tiangong Electric Co., Ltd.

Compared with common varistors, the varistors developed and produced by Tiangong Electric Co., Ltd. has following advantages:

a)              High 2ms rectangular current impulse withstand capacity: for D42mm varistors as example, the rectangular current withstand of the varistors produced by TianGong Electric Co., Ltd. reached 450kV(current density of 33A/cm2), but the varistors manufactured with common technology can only withstand 300kA( current density of 22A/cm2).

b)              Excellent protective performance: the varistors produced by TianGong Electric Co., Ltd. has very low voltage ratio, so that the protective performance of surge arresters can be greatly improved, for D42mm varistors as example, the voltage ratio of U5kA/U1mA has been reduced to 1.66 and below for varistors produced by TianGong Electric Co., Ltd. from 1.76 of common products.

c)              Strong high current impulse withstand capability: for D42mm varistor as example, the high current impulse withstand has been increased to 100kA for varistors produced by TianGong Electric Co., Ltd. from 90kA of original.

d)              Excellent high current impulse withstand stability: The change of U1mA before and after 2 applications of 4/10µs 100kA has been reduced to 10% and below for TianGong’s varistors from 20% of common varistors.

e)              Excellent accelerated aging test performance: The Kct of varistors produced by TianGong Electric Co., Ltd. has been reduced to 1.0 and below from 1.2 of common varistors, hence ensure the long term operation stability of surge arresters.
