3) Grade F/P conforms to the requirements of the Food Chemical Codex, the
Miscellaneous Food Additive Regulations 1995, EEC Directive 95/2/EEC,
BP/Ph .Eur and BSS 3304/ISO418 photographic grade specifications
4) Can also be supplied with the addition of a catalyst for water treatment purposes
Applications
1) Anhydrous sodium sulphite is used as convenient source of sulphur dioxide
2) Foodstuffs: as a preservative particularly for processed meats and fruit juices
3) Textiles: as an antichlor following bleaching by sodium hypochlorite
4) Photography: as a preservative in developing solutions
5) Dyestuffs: as a reducing agent in the manufacture of some dyestuffs
6) Water treatment: as an oxygen scavenger in boiler feed waters
7) Paper: as an antichlor and also as the chemical in the processing of
wood pulp by chemi-thermo-mechanical means
