The composition structure of sheath thermocouples
The appearances of sheath thermocouples are greatly differential due to their different use requirements. But their basic structures are roughly the same. They are usually composed to the main components such as armoured thermocouple elements, mounted fixing devices, connection boxes and so on .
Sheath thermocouple element: it is a solid substance combined by metal sleeves, insulants (commonly the magnesia powder) and thermocouple wires. According to the structural form of the measured terminal, It may be divided into unground type , ground type, terminal exposed type , separable unground type for consumers’ choice. If not defined by the consumers , we may offer the unground type. For installing the setting device, its structural form may be divided into non-fixing device , fixed cutting sleeve thread, movable cutting sleeve screw, fixed cutting sleeve flange , fixed compressed flange, flexible compressed flange, outer protection tube type etc. The connection methods: its structure may be divided into porcelain patch board, easy type, co-external diam. Protection cap type, anti-splash connecting box type, water-proof terminal block type, explosion isolation junction block type, socket type, spring- load type, handle type, with compensation conductor type etc.Functional principle
The operational principle of sheath thermocouples is the same as that of the ordinary industrial thermocouples. It bases itself upon See beck effect, i.e. two homogeneous conductors with different constituents (hot electrode) compose the closed loop, when two ends exist the temperature gradient , the current goes through in the loop, therefore Seebeck electrical potential – thermoelectric potential is in between the two terminals.
Features
1. Large measuring range: this serial sheath thermocouple are of wide specification scope, complete varieties, which is fit for various measuring occasions. They may be used between -200C and +1600C
2. Easy mounting& use: the sheath thermocouple material may wind 5 circles around the barrels whose exterior diam. is 5 times large than the material itself. It may also bend in multi-positions.
3. Rapid reaction speed: compared with assembly type thermocouples, it has smaller exterior diam. and fewer capacity , thus it may rapidly reacts to minimal temperature changes. This is esp. obvious for micro sheath thermocouples
4. Long use life: assembly type thermocouple is apt to cause the accidents such as thermoelectric potential deterioration, disconnection etc, whereas WR_K serial sheath thermocouple uses magnesia for its insulation with fine air-tightness & compactibility ,high density and long life.
5.Excellent mechanical strength and pressure resistance: it may be safely used under awful conditions such as strong vibration or corrosion low or high temperature and so on. Sheath thermocouple may maximumly bear 3*105kpa / cm2 pressure.
6. The external diam. size range of sheath thermocouples: we may furnish dia.0.25mm~0.8mm sheath thermocouple materials external diam. to the customers. Dia.12mm products to be special order
7. The max. length of sheath thermocouple materials may reach to 500m.
8. Sheath thermocouple core numbers: we may offer single type (2-core), double type (4-core), triple type (6-core) various sheath thermocouples.
