Thrust ball bearings are separable bearings, which are classified as single direction thrust ball bearings and bi-directional ones as per internal construction. The single direction thrust ball bearings can carry axial load in one direction and the bi-direction ones can cary axial load in tow directions. Neither of them can carry radial load.
The bearing with housing washers, which have spherical mounting surfaces are self-aligning, which can reduce the effects of mounting error.
