Composition:

Each bolus contains: Levamisole HCL B.P (Vet) 1g.

 

Indications:

Depending on the product licensed, LEVA-FTONG is indicated for the treatment of many nematodes in cattle, sheep & goats, swine, poultry. In sheep and cattle, levamisole has relatively good activity against abomasal nematodes, small intestinal nema-todes (not particularly good against Strongyloides spp.), large intestinal nematodes (not Trichuris spp.), and lungworms. Adult forms of species that are usually covered by lev-amisole, include: Haemonchus spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Osteragia spp., Cooperia spp., Nematodirus spp., Bunostomum spp.,Oesophagostomum spp., Chabertia spp., and Dictyocaulus vivapurus. Levamisole is less effective against the immature forms of these parasites and is generally ineffective in cattle (but not sheep) against arrested larval forms. Resistance of parasites to levamisole is a growing concern.

200-300 kg (Age 1 years-18 months)             11/2-21/2 Bolus

300 kg and over (Age 18 months and over)        21/2 Bolus

Precaution:

A transitory scouring of treated cattle should not cause alarm.

Treated cattle should not be slaughtered for human consumption for at least 7 days after the last trearment.

Milk from treated cattle should not be used for 48 hours after the last treatment.
