Oxytetracycline 10% Injection
DESCRIPTION:
Oxytetracycline 10% is a sterile solution of Oxytetracycline with antioxidants, complex agents and solvents. Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic with bacteriostatic action against a large number of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms.
The bacteriostatic effect is based on the inhibition of the synthesis of bacterial proteins.
COMPOSITION: Each 1ml contains: Oxytetracycline 100mg
PRESENTATION: A yellow or pale brown-yellow solution containing 10g/100ml.
INDICATIONS:
For the treatment of bacterial infections diseases caused by gram- positive and gram- negative bacteria affecting respiratory, gastrointestinal tract, Septicaemia as well as mastitis, skin condition and urogenital tract infections, it is also active against mycoplasma, spirochete and some protozoa.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Administered by deep Intramuscular
Cattle, Buffaloes, Camel, Sheep, Goats and Pigs:
Single dose 2ml every 10kg b.w by Intramuscular route only. Poultry 1ml/hen
Divide the dose and administer at 2-3 different sites.
CONTRA-INDICATION: Do not administer animals with established hypersensitivity to tetracycline.
CAUTION:
1-Do not exceed the above mentioned dosage
2-Stop medication at least 14 days prior to slaughter of the animals for meat purpose
3-Milk of treated animals should not be used for human consumption 3 days post administration.
4-Keep out of reach of children
PHARMACEUTICAL PRECAUTIONS:
Use a dry sterile needle and syringe.
Keep out of the reach of children.
PACKING: 50ml/glass bottle, 100ml/glass bottle
STORAGE: Store in cool and dry place protecting from light.
