After the garbage is completely deposited, the lid will close automatically within 3 seconds , so you don't have to touch the garbage can. The infrared sensor detects movement from an approaching object, which is converted into an electronic signal that causes the trigger control to open or close the lid. This solves the problem which existed in older manual or step on garbage cans where bacteria on the garbage can could lead to infections. This product is controlled by a microcomputer chip.
