AWS 5.5 Class E8018-B2 / ASME SFA 5.5 Class E8018-B2

E8018-B2 welding electrode is for higher strength steels with tensile strengths greater than 80,000 pounds. The coating is specially formulated to resist moisture pick-up under conditions of high heat and humidity. This electrode offers resistance to moisture reabsorption which helps prevent hydrogen cracking and aids in elimination of starting porosity.

Instructions
1.The Electrodes must be baked under 350°C~380°C for an hour before Welding and used as soon as baking is completed.
2.The stains on the weldments, such as rust, oil stains, moisture, etc., must be cleared away before Welding.
3.When Welding, short arc must be used and stringer bead is suitable.
Application
Suitable for welding important structures made by 15CrMo steel, which work temperature below 520°C, such as boiler pipes, high pressure vessels, petroleum thermal cracking equirment, etc. Also it could weld cast steel of 30CrMnSi.
