The machine is a top-feeding, drum-like, outside-filtering vacuum permanent-magnetic filter, suitable for dewatering of coarse and strong-magnetic particles. Inside the drum is a strontium ferrite permanent-magnetic, which enables the magnetic particles to be absorbed on the filter cloth quickly. The magnetic filter is mainly for dewatering of ore pulp containing coarse and strong magnetic particles. Due to the top feeding design, particles are obviously stratified in the filter cake according to their grain sizes. When the magnetic concentrate is shaped into filter cakes, the coarse particles move faster than the fine particles toward the filter cloth under the effect of gravity and magnetic force. The coarse particles touch the filter cloth first, making the filter cake breathable. When attracted by the magnetic force, the magnetic particles in the ore pulp are laid out on the surface of the drum radially and give rise to magnetic stirring due to magnetic pole variation. All these features create a favorable environment for filter cake dewatering; filter cakes produced in this way are usually thick and have good breathability, and improved productivity which is three times more than that of other drum vacuum filters of the same specifications.

The specific susceptibility of solid particles in ore pulp of the machine is at least 3OOO×10-6 cm/gram, and the granularity is between 015mm and 0.8mm.

 

The machine mainly comprises the following parts and components:

(1)   Transmission gear: consist of motor, continuously variable transmission, and worm reducer to drive the machine.

(2)   Machine body: consist of the simplified body and the venture; the simplified body has a rope groove at the perimeter, which separates the simplified body into several isolated filter cells where low-pressure polyethylene strainer plates are placed. During operation, the strainer plates are wrapped up with filter cloth and the rope groove is pressed against a rubber rod on the top and enlaced equidistantly by stainless steel. Each filter cell is connected to the vacuum pump by means of connecting lines and the adaptor.

(3)   Magnetic System: The open-circuit magnetic system formed by strontium ferrite permanent magnets relies mainly on the role of magnetic force in absorbing magnetic ore grains quickly on the surface of the simplified body.

(4)   Hopper: located on the upper part of the simplified body, it is a tank for material feeding and storing, and provided with a baffle to regulate the overflow weir and the pulp level depending on the materials.

(5)   Distributing Head: consisting of the distribution block and clamping device, the distributing head is responsible for periodic mechanical control of ore blowing and drying in the filter, and regenerative cleaning of the filter cloth. Its instruments display pressure variation of the filtering process.

(6)   Winding Device: consisting of the screw rod, guide pulley and reel that are driven by the chain transmission, it is used whenever the filter cloth is replaced with a new one and removed after steel wires have been wound up. It can wind wires in a close way or at a fixed equidistance.

(7)   Overflow Tank: consist of the machine base and the overflow tank; the former is for installing and supporting the machine while the latter is a tank receiving the liquid flow and filter-cloth washing waste.
