Product Application: 

UV System

Silok®8586 is a classical additives for UV varnish, solvent-based UV, solvent-based UV systems, it can provide a very excellent feel, anti stick, increase slip, anti-scratch and wear-resistant performance, while it has good performance of shrink holes; as good as its miscibility; and will not affect the adhesion of the substrate;   Silok®8586 is poor in re-coating in the UV system, that need to be assessed carefully.

Solvent-borne coatings

Silok®8586 is applied to all solvent-based paint systems, it provides a very good handle, anti-sticking, increase slip, anti-scratch, wearable resistance performance, excellent compatibility with the resin.

Water System

Silok®8586 can provide a sense of prominence-slip, wear and anti-scratch natures in water-based varnish, water-based leather paint, water-based plastic paint and metal paint; significantly reduce surface tension of the system, gives excellent mobility.

Application Method:

Silok®8586 smooth leveling agent can be added in coatings, paints during or after the manufacturing process; typical amount of 0.05% -0.5%, need to use a suitable solvent, such as alcohols or esters diluted to 20% solution before use, it can achieve the best distribution and miscibility of the system; however, the specific dosage to each system is different, so it requires to determine by experiments.

Note:

Because of Silok®8586 has high viscosity and high solid content, in case of use, it is proposed to diluted 8586 solution to about 20% for standby.

Storage and validity: 

Unopened stored at room temperature, the shelf-life of the product of from the date of production for 24 months.
